Why Are Fitness Poles So Popular?

By

The dance pole workout is very popular these days because let's face it going to the gym can become a mundane task that takes a lot of motivation. Working a full-time job only to reward yourself by subjecting your body to physical torment is one reason America is the fattest country on earth.

Everybody is looking for a way to get physically fit without going through the pain we have all been trained must be endured just to look good. Well a few intelligent people are coming up with ways to get a vigorous workout and not even realize it. Some of these workouts are actually designed for people to enjoy themselves.

Quite the novel concept, have fun and get in shape. That has been a long time coming for many.
The negative connotation associated with fitness poles is that they are only for strippers. As if strippers are somehow less than human. Luckily this garbage kind of thinking has waned as our society has become more enlightened. Anyhow have you ever seen the bodies most of these women have.

Maybe jealousy was rearing its ugly head. I do not know and that is beside the point.
These are great workouts for women that work the abs, legs and even the upper body. The upper body is an area many women lack muscular endurance and strength. Doing the pole tricks, as they are called, often requires lifting one's own body and relying on the strength of the arms, a difficult and physically challenging premise.

While doing this the abdominal muscles are acting as stabilizers and are kept taught or tense, so few people truly focus on the core muscles when working out, maybe a few sit ups or side crunches but nothing that really works the core.

By nature the abdominal muscles act as stabilizers. That is the reason we are able to stand upright. So any workout that promotes the stabilization process by the abdominal muscles is exactly what the doctor ordered. There is no better way to work your core than the way it was designed to be worked. That is just simple logic.

Thirdly and lastly the legs receive tremendous benefit from all of this as well. The legs are often used to grip the pole and even just the dance moves that are included promote muscle tone.
I guess the conclusion is why isn't everybody doing a dance pole workout? We know why men are not and that is because they are embarrassed but it would serve them well. It is an undeniable powerhouse of a workout and that is why it is so popular because it gets the job done.
